## Frequently Asked Questions

### What is AnyPiP?

A menu bar app that gives Picture in Picture to everything on your Mac. Press a shortcut, drag over any part of any window, and it floats on top, live.

### Can AnyPiP tell me when something is done?

Yes. Hover a PiP and turn on Notify, then pick Notify when idle or Notify on change. When its content stops changing for 5 seconds, or changes, AnyPiP shows an alert in the PiP, plays a sound and, if you allow notifications, posts a macOS notification.

### Is my screen recorded?

No. Frames are streamed and displayed in memory, and are never recorded or written to disk. AnyPiP sends no data of its own.

### What permissions does it need?

Screen Recording, which AnyPiP asks for on first launch. Notifications are optional, asked for the first time you turn on Notify, and only add a macOS banner to its alerts. Its shortcuts work without Accessibility access.

### Can I watch Netflix while a PiP is open?

Yes. If video in another app, like Netflix or Prime Video, goes black while a PiP is open, turn on Video compatibility (Beta) in Settings. It uses more battery.

### Can I save battery?

Yes. Hover a PiP and click its frame rate to switch between 30, 60, 15 and 1 FPS. 1 FPS is eco mode, for things that change slowly, like a build log or a chat.

### How much does it cost?

AnyPiP is free to download, and every feature is free for 7 days. After that, a one-time $4.99 purchase unlocks it for good. No subscription.
